Château de Montmirail, highlighted by Hugh Johnson for their excellent wines. This Vacqueyras proves why. The beauty of a wine lies in its balance and its character. In Vacqueyras, the grape combinations produce wines with strength and a distinct character, but which always stand out for their freshness and special finesse.
At the foot of the exceptional mountain massif, Dentelles de Montmirail, the grapes used for this wine grow. Vacqueyras of 60% Grenache Noir, 35% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre. The harvested grapes are crushed and placed in fermentation tanks for 10-12 days, after which the wine is pressed. It is then stored for 12 months before being bottled.
The wine has a deep color, a beautiful ruby ??red shade. It has a bouquet that quickly reveals fruit: dark cherries and preserved fruits, such as pickled figs. It is a robust, powerful and full-bodied red wine with a pleasant finish. The wine can be drunk from now and the next 6-8 years. Decant the wine into a carafe 2-3 times before serving, and remember the large red wine glasses. The perfect drinking temperature for the wine is approximately 18 degrees.
