The Caymus 2022 Napa Cabernet, celebrating the winery’s 50th anniversary, was released on June 1st, well ahead of most competitors, and it indeed sets a high benchmark. This wine is as bold and vibrant as ever. Known for harvesting grapes quite late, Caymus boasts refined, velvety tannins that frame a decadent core of chocolate-powder and vanilla-infused plum-berry fruit. Our tasting of the 2022 vintage confirmed this: a classic Caymus Cabernet with a plush texture and abundant flavor. The bouquet offers a lively mix of plum compote, chocolate, Kirsch, and vanilla bean, while the palate features a smooth softness that disguises firm tannins and good acidity.
