An unusually warm start to the 2016 vintage followed by consistently cooler midsummer temperatures extended the growing season and provided beautifully ripened fruit that retained acidity and elegance. Our 2016 Jet Black Syrah is handpicked from some of our most cherished blocks. Whole berry fermented, this wine showcases a wide array of fruit, earthy notes and smoked meat, backed with a velvety richness that makes this estate grown Syrah something to be enjoyed for years to come. On the nose, raspberry, Rainier cherry, and boysenberry blend harmoniously with cured meat, a touch of allspice, vanilla and mocha. The elegance on the pallet is highlighted by plum, blackberry and ripe blueberry which compliment oaky nuances and a plush tannin profile. The wine finishes with a cleansing acidity, making it both an ideal stand-alone sipper and food friendly wine. Pair with your favorite BBQ faire or Beef Brasato with Pappardelle and Mint.
