** JULY SPECIAL OFFER ** Save 5% off the listed prices of all Riesling wines from Frazier's
Grape: 100% Riesling fermented in temperature-controlled old oak barrels (Fuder) with natural yeast.
A nose of apple, citrus and slate stone. Clean and pure structure, mineral texture with rich mouth filling flavours of orchard fruits. A zesty and spicy refreshing style with a well balanced structure and elegant fruit acid, finishes with great length.
So, named as it was the wine served on the Transatlantic Zeppelin Flights. In the Zeppelin`s heyday of the 1920s and `30s, Mülheimer Sonnenlay Riesling was the wine most often poured on grand transatlantic flights. Today, it`s to be found in Queen Elizabeth`s cellars and is served on State occasions. `Sonnen` means sunshine and `lay` is old German for slate. This idyllic terroir gives the wine zesty apple and peach flavours and a concentrated mineral structure.
The estate of Max Ferd. Richter has been passed down from father to son for 9 generations (300 years). The current reins are held by Dr. Dirk Richter, eventually to be passed down to his son Constantin. Max Ferd. Richter produces world class Rieslings from some of the most esteemed vineyards in the Mosel, each of which is an estate holding.
Pair with duck breast and mango chutney.
