About the Winery
Dancing Crow owner Tom Cartlidge describes himself as the "Over-the-hill Benign Dictator" of the winery. Originally from England, Tom moved to the United States and found himself driving logging trucks in Alaska. He didn't know much about wine at the time, but after a friend gifted him a wine book Tom, with a newfound fascination, packed his bags for California in search of a job in the wine trade.
His original vineyard was called Dancing Crow, located just north of Napa Valley in Lake County. Tom sold it, a decision he quickly regretted, and years later the opportunity presented itself for Tom to purchase the vineyard back. Recently Tom hired Louisville native Scott Kirkpatrick as winemaker, but you'll still find Tom most weekends at the local farmer's market hawking his fabulous Dancing Crow wines.
