"Marlborough in New Zealand has made a name for first class Pinot Noir from Marlborough at the top of the South Island. These wines often rival the best Pinots in the world from Burgundy. Rugged and rustic in one way, with lots of flavours of wild herbs and some lovely, soft aromatic spice. But shining through is a beautiful and pure core of red fruits including cranberry, cherry and plums. This gives a wine of great complexity and counterpoint. Ideal with chicken or duck, but great to savour on its own and contemplate!"
